The Tale of Kvaljal and the Frost Dragon Veekneum

According to Bard Philexi Doruth’s Codex Suda: "The barbarian tribe of Kvaljal once defeated thee greate frost dragon Veekneum who had long pillaged and dide plundered their forest homes. After appeasing the dragon fore over 6 generations with human sacrifices, the warrior-King Vetchell Kvaljal (and 22 other brave men and women) did hunt downe the dreaded wyrm and did slaye it. Theye had travelled faire northern into unknown mountain lyands to slaye Veekneum. On the spot of that deed dide they build a shrine to Odin, their god, in gratitude. The Shrine, decorated with dragon bones and teeth, and bareing the mark ofe Odin’s EYE dide stand fore over 50 years time. A wandering monk was on a queste and pilgramage to the verye shrine when did the frost Elven Klan of Sy’Dirr’Leen did discover it. The monk was blinded by spared to live. He was returned to the humans who vowed revenge. Theye travelled in a greate war-band to the OdinShrine – expecting it to be destroyed …. when they approached greate magic did animate the ruins of the dragon who took flight and brought wrath upon them all. The shrine was defaced of all Odin runes but the dragons bones were replaced and set unto a great curse to any who woulde visit theyre it would come to undeadish form and destroy all life. It is rumoured this majik was brought upon by witchcraft and a summoner of Drow arts. The explorer Burdon of Umbria did in many centuries later discover the ruined shrine … it had been remade of the bones of the snow elves who riled the angry draconic spirites of Hell. They trap they had set had sprung upon themselves. Paintings taken from Burdon’s journey showe that over 1,000 skulls ringed the shrine proper … they are still on view in the garden atrium in the cloud citie of Colondor."
(NOTE: the cloud city of Colondor was destroyed in the great war of ruin.)
